As per the Pakistan Super League 2020 fifth season schedule, the 6th match played between Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings. National Stadium hosted the 4th and last game of the PSL 5 Karachi Schedule. Gladiators marked their second while chasing down the average total on the board. Another brilliant inning by Azam Khan after losing the top three batsmen became a match-winning performance. He formed a partnership of 85 runs for 54 balls with Sarfaraz Ahmed. It was the very first time for Karachi Kings after winning the toss they decided to bat first. In the last seasons or games for Kings, they always opted to bowl first after winning the toss. According to the cricket analyst, it may be the last thing for Imad Wasim to choose batting, especially at Karachi Stadium pitch conditions, as the stadium favored Kings in chasing down the total. After winning the first match to Islamabad United with a marginal victory, Kings got a hell of confidence.
While batting first, Karachi Kings posted 159 runs in 20 overs with the loss of nine wickets. Not a single batter for Kings went in the thirties as the highest individual innings by Alex Hales of 29 runs. An excellent bowling spell by Tymal Mills and Mohammad Hasnain, who restricted Kings to an average total. Hasnain picked up three wickets while Mills removed two batsmen in their bowling spell. They changed the ball pace and kept bowling straight wicket-to-wicket for building pressure on the opposition.

Gladiators needed 34 runs off 24 balls Sarfaraz took a chance to reduce the gap between required fields and balls. Sarfaraz went for a six and four on 1st and second ball of Arshad Iqbal at the start of 17th over. Azam Khan followed the same fashion as his skipper did earlier, and he went for a fine-leg boundary. Arshad Iqbal bowled the most expensive over conceding 17 runs and all done for Gladiators as they got closer to the total. Karachi Kings successfully grabbed two wickets in the next seven balls, but Anwar Ali wrapped up with a gigantic six over long-on.
In the first half of the game, KK top-order didn’t build a solid partnership that could lead them to 180+. The batting surfaces like National Stadium Karachi, you need at least 180 runs to defend. It’s tough for the bowling side to control unless individual bowling performances help you to drive to the target. Alex Hales 29 runs innings became the highest as Babar Azam fell after 26 runs to Tymal Mills. Cameron Delport scored 22 runs off 12 balls but what they missed, a solid partnership in the middle.
In 14th over Kings miserably completed 100 runs with the loss of five wickets leaving finish to tail-enders. Iftikhar Ahmed, who smashed 16 runs for just three balls in the 1st PSL match, got 25 off 18 balls and departed earlier. Kings lost three wickets for 20 runs in the last 14 balls.
