Quetta Gladiators struggled as they were getting hard to score a reasonable total, but they went to score a big total. Sarfaraz and Jason Roy, who piled up 62, ran off 39 balls and took the game to 112/3 before the skipper lost his wicket. Jason Roy played a magnificent inning but played a little slow by making the game with almost an ODI strike rate.
Jason Roy completed his fifty in the 15th over that didn’t suit his batting style. Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 41 runs off 25 balls with a single maximum and five fours to his innings. His contribution was significant for Gladiators in a wicket losing streak and piling up for handy partnership. Azam Khan, who scored his first fifty in the opening inning to Islamabad United, went back to pavilion after scoring just five runs off nine balls.
Kamran Akmal 55 Balls Century
An extraordinary inning by Kamran Akmal, who scored the first century of the tournament, helped Zalmi in chasing down the target with nine balls spare to innings. Tom Banton is still struggling to find his way and showcase his talent as a dominant player in the tournament. He got a ripper by Tymal Mills, who was distracted with his pace and a sharp edge gone back to wicket-keeper. Zalmi’s great bowling spell by Wahab Riaz, especially in death, overs the same runs in the first innings.
Peshawar Zalmi used six bowlers in the first half of the 4th game, and Wahab Riaz picked up two wickets by conceding 21 runs.
